Non-surgical facial rejuvenation

We all want to feel and look our best, both for our own happiness and to send a positive and receptive message to others. Our face is often our calling card.

A primary cosmetic concern for many people is the appearance of age, with millions seeking treatments to stop aging in its tracks through a virtually endless variety of methods, including surgical facelifts with significant risks and a lengthy recovery process. If you want to look younger, you’ve likely thought that your only options were plastic surgery or expensive creams. However, a lot of facial aging can be attributed to your teeth and your smile. As you age, your teeth will become worn down, and missing teeth can lead to bone loss. The overall result is more wrinkles around the mouth and sagging skin on the neck.

With our River Edge non-surgical facial rejuvenation, our cosmetic dentists at Marlen Elite Dental Wellness can enhance your smile and shave years off your appearance. Marlen Founder, Dr. Marlen Martirossian, is a certified member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. The Consumers’ Research Council has regularly recognized Dr. Martirossian as one of America’s top dentists. If you would like to look years younger and improve the appearance of your smile, please contact us to book an appointment by calling (201) 880-6736.

non-surgical facial rejuvenation

What is non-surgical facial rejuvenation?

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation is a technique that provides facelift-like results but without surgery.

As you age, you might think that sagging skin is just a side effect of aging. Although that’s partly true, a lot of the sagging is a result of jaw bone loss because the jaw bone provides support for your facial features. With less support structure, the facial features will begin to sink in and cause a number of physical effects including:

  • Thin, compressed lips
  • Jowls or sagging skin on the jaw and under the chin
  • Wrinkles around the mouth
  • Deep creases between the lower lip and chin
  • Saggy, wrinkled, or squished lower third of the face
If you experience any of the above, you likely look older than your biological age. With non-surgical facial rejuvenation, we can restore your face to its youthful proportions to reduce signs of aging. You will also experience a more youthful smile that’s brightened and reshaped to complement your overall appearance. The effects of the entire procedure can help you look 15 years younger at the very least.

Who’s a good candidate?

Most non-surgical facial rejuvenation patients are good candidates. If you feel that you look older than your biological age and your teeth are missing or worn down, you’re a good candidate!

Benefits of Non-Surgical Facelift Dentistry

The ultimate goal of non-surgical facial rejuvenation is to restore youthful facial proportions without highly invasive surgery like a traditional facelift. When you opt for non-surgical facial rejuvenation, you can look forward to:

  • Younger appearance by at least 15 years.
  • Fewer wrinkles
  • Enhanced jawline
  • Whiter, better-shaped teeth
  • More stable, better-functioning teeth
  • Plumper lips and cheeks
  • Tighter skin
  • Restored bite
  • Eliminating TMJ pain and symptoms

In addition to these physical benefits, the procedure itself comes with benefits you won’t find with a traditional facelift.

  • Non-invasive procedure
  • Fast recovery time
  • Minimal discomfort
With non-surgical facial rejuvenation, you won’t have a serious surgery with all the risks and complications that come with it. Instead, you will have simple dental procedures at our dental office with little downtown or risks.

How does it work?

First, you will schedule a consultation with Dr. Martirossian to discuss your needs and a customized treatment plan.

Your treatments will depend on your teeth’s wear, whether you already wear dentures, and if you need to replace missing teeth. Depending on your needs, Dr. Martirossian will create a custom treatment plan that restores your teeth to their full structure and provide your facial features with the needed support. Your treatment may involve dentures, dental crowns, or porcelain veneers.

Dentures

Denture making is equal parts science and art. Great dentures combine technical expertise and precision with an eye for aesthetic balance and beauty. Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. There are two main types of dentures — full and partial.

Your dentist can help you choose which type of denture that is best suited for and the cost involved. Dentures are made to fit your unique bite using impressions that are then sent to a dental laboratory for fabrication. Over time, your dentures will need to be relined, rebased, or remade based on normal wear that can cause them to loosen. Proper oral hygiene is critically important in maintaining your dentures.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are caps placed on top of damaged teeth. They are used to protect, cover, and restore the shape of your teeth when fillings are not adequate. Think of a crown as a snug hat for your tooth. Crowns typically require no special care. Reasons for needing a dental crown include:
  • Protecting a weak tooth
  • Restoring a broken or severely worn tooth
  • Covering and supporting a tooth with a large filling
  • Holding a dental bridge in place
  • Covering a dental implant
  • Covering a tooth that has been treated with a root canal

There are many types of crowns that can be used on your teeth. A traditional crown will cover your entire tooth. Onlays and three-quarter crowns don’t cover as much of your underlying tooth as full crowns.

During your first visit, we will make impressions that are sent to a dental laboratory and place a temporary cap on your tooth. After the permanent cap is produced and returned to your dentist, it will be placed and fitted. On average, dental crowns last between five and 15 years.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are “covers” that are attached to the front surfaces of your teeth. Modern veneers are made of durable porcelain that can be tinted, shaded, and shaped to match your teeth so that the end result is flawless.
